For rural health clinics, splitting Medicare claims shouldn’t require splitting hairs.
It shouldn’t require creating and editing duplicate claims or a lot of manual workarounds.
It should be as easy as clicking a button.
And with the Azalea Ambulatory EHR it is.
To start, create two rules. One that outlines what you want to split. For example, Medicare claims with select CPT codes.
And one that outlines what you want to do with the encounter after it’s split. For example, if you want it to be a copy, which location it is coming from, or bill type.
Next set up and save one or more filters.
For example, all Medicare encounters with incomplete or new statuses.
You can run that filter weekly or monthly to identify applicable claims and split them in bulk or individually.
Just like that, all applicable encounters are split and are ready to submit.
Note, only claims where your rule applies are split and are split based on your modification rule.
If you need to be more granular, you can do that too.
Simply open a claim, select the CPT codes you want to bundle and how.
Then select from the bundle and split option to split the claim to match your preferences.
